NYFW SS12
My top picks from New York Fashion Week:
Suno |
Derek Lam |
3.1 Phillip Lim |
Proenza Schouler |
Suno have been on my radar for a few seasons now and their SS12 collection didn't disappoint. The fresh, neutral colour palette and prints were set off perfectly with pops of metallic red. The graphic prints continued at Derek Lam where there was an obvious sixties influence. Blocks of bold yellow, deep coral and cool aqua were complimented by kaleidoscope prints and fisherman knits. The sleek, glamorous silhouettes were a contrast to 3.1 Phillip Lim where the look was clean cut and minimal. Some clever cutting was showcased in pretty pastel tones to soften the look.
Knee length dresses and short suits were the strongest looks at Proenza Schouler. The hip design duo mixed retro botanical prints with svelte, modern shapes to create an ode to the seventies with a 2012 twist.
