Jubilee style file: Kate Middleton in Alexander McQueen

Yesterday's Jubilee celebrations may have been dampened by the rain, but at least we had fashion to brighten things up.
Kate's McQueen dress in patriotic red was a perfect choice for the occasion, the knee length pleats made it ladylike and the deconstructed peplum added a fashion edge. But as the Duchess boarded the royal barge we couldn't help think we may have seen this dress somewhere before. That somewhere was last summer on both Kim Kardashian and Tulisa Contostavlos.
As much as I love Kim's statement necklace and Tulisa's matching red lip, for me there is no contest. With a prince on her arm and that perfect bouncing blow dry (how does she do it?!), Kate wins hands down. The custom added sleeve made this dress fit for a Duchess and also meant Kate could leave her jacket at home - smart move. The 30-year-old topped off her look with a red matching clutch, nude LK Bennett heels and a Sylvia Fletcher hat from James Lock & Co. Can't wait to see her style choices for the rest of the celebrations!
