Mawi: SS12 collection

Those who know me well will tell you how much I love a piece of statement jewellery, but I was blown away when I saw the latest collection from Mawi at London Fashion Week yesterday. The beautiful rose gold chains mixed with chunky colourful stones and extreme spikes lured me in for a closer look.


The London based brand introduce the Hyperluxe collection for Spring Summer 2012, which takes inspiration from traditional South-Indian tribal jewellery and fuses it with a contemporary high-fashion aesthetic. The result is stunning, directional pieces that will be the talking point of any outfit.
The Pyramid collection was also on show and whilst the tribal influence was still apparent, this time it was all about luxurious materials and graphic shapes. Box chains, neon pearls and Swarovski crystals combine to create a juxtaposition of tribal influences with a sophisticated punk edge. A definite addition to my wish list.
